During the spring of 2020 Nigerian federal and state governments took various measures to contain Covid-19 and its effect on citizens’ lives and business. On 29 March the president, pursuant to the Quarantine Act, Cap Q2 LFN, 2004, issued the Covid-19 Regulations 2020. It ordered the restriction of movement of people and goods in Lagos State, the Federal Capital Territory and Ogun State, except for essential services. Other states in Nigeria issued similar restrictions.
